Mental health is an all encompassing topic within so many people's lives, and Reid is not a stranger to mental health struggles. Through this episode we sit down and talk about this. Reid began his mental health journey at thirteen, he began to have huge amounts of seasonal depression, he felt alone in his struggle. But after ten years he started therapy and felt a huge sense of relief to understand that he was not alone in his struggles and that it was a REAL thing. Reid began to realize through his journey that he could help those around him as well. He outlines the many real things he has learned and experienced. As your own person you can and have the authority over yourself to make decisions that work for you. Asking for what you need and what you want, is extremely important for your mental health. Without attending to your needs and wants you can not healthy express your emotions.
Every human has a story. Everybody goes through a series of events within their life that affects the outcome of their mental health. Many people go through trauma that affects them but you need to be able to be free to focus on your mental health journey. Your emotions are meant to be heard, not suppressed. It is sometimes difficult to understand why we matter and why we are here, but we all have a purpose and a reason.
