It's Hard

You Are in Charge of Your Happiness with Jack Holmgren

Episode Summary

SOLO: This week, Paige sits down with her fiancé Jack to answer listeners questions about sobriety, friendships, mental wellbeing, their engagement, and more.

Episode Notes

The episode begins with a question about Paige's decision to commit to sobriety. Paige is sober because of the trauma and anxiety that drinking brought to her. While for her it is something that she needed to do and it has helped her mental wellbeing, sobriety is something that many people around us do not understand; some will even try to persuade you into breaking that sobriety. This goes into the next point of self sabotaging, we have conditioned ourselves from a young age of believing we have specific limits on us as human beings. This makes us believe we cannot do certain things or achieve things that are a bit more difficult. You can achieve whatever you put your mind towards and work towards, nothing is in your way but yourself.

Our mental health is important in many ways, if we are not on track and doing well ourselves it is difficult and even sometimes impossible to help those around us. Just as we rely on those around us, they also rely on us. We have to surround ourselves with people who are willing to help us and watch us thrive. Having a support system is very important to our mental health.

The last topic of this episode is Paige and Jack's engagement. When committing to each other they decided not to go a traditional route, but go in a route that fit them best. Everyone is different and having one traditional approach is not for everyone. Both Paige and Jack asked each other's parents, and decided to both ask each other to commit to each for an eternity. This commitment was a special moment for them and they will be able to remember it and live through it for forever. Relationships are all different and are meant to be that way!
